What day is the 16th day of the twelfth lunar month?

——The day of the year-end party.
Zuoya, also known as Yaji, Zuoluo and year-end dinner, refers to the traditional twice-monthly worship of the God of Wealth. Usually the local God of Wealth is the God of Land (Tudigong), so people believe that the God of Land can bless merchants to have prosperous business, many guests and customers.
Therefore, on the second and sixteenth day of each month in the lunar calendar, people would hold a ceremony to worship the God of Land with meat offerings such as chicken, pork, and fish.
Generally speaking, the "tooth-making" starts on February 2, the birthday of the God of Land, which is called the "first tooth", and December 16 is called the "last tooth". In ancient China, after the "tooth ceremony", the meat offered to the land god would always be distributed and eaten, commonly known as "tooth sacrifice".
There is another meaning of "Da Ya Ji". The ritual of cutting a small piece of meat for sacrifice only happens a few times a year. And the chance to eat some meat is only a few times at that time, so every opportunity to eat meat is jokingly called "Da Ya Ji".
This word reflects the sacrificial customs of Sichuan people, and later it generally refers to eating meat and is widely used in Sichuan. There are many theories about its origin, the main ones are as follows:
According to one story, the ancestor worshipped by chefs in the old days was Yi Ya. On the first and fifteenth day of every lunar month, they would pray to Yi Ya with meat, which was called "praying to Yi Ya". Later, it was mispronounced as "beating Yi Ya".
The second theory is that in the old days, on the second day after offering sacrifices to gods and ancestors, the employees of the yamen could share the sacrificial meat, so the sacrificial meat was called "ya (ya) sacrificial meat".
The third theory is that "Tooth Sacrifice" was originally a system in ancient military camps. In ancient times, when moving forward from the tents where the commander-in-chief or chief commander lived, there would often be a large flag decorated with ivory, which was called an "ivory flag."
On the second and sixteenth day of the lunar calendar, livestock are slaughtered to offer sacrifices to the tooth flag, which is called "tooth sacrifice". The meat of livestock used as sacrifices to the tooth flag (also known as tooth sacrifice meat) could not be thrown away. Instead, it was often shared among soldiers, which was called "eating tooth sacrifice meat."
