Gathering around the fire on New Year's Eve On New Year's Eve, the whole family will gather around the table to eat the most sumptuous reunion dinner of the year. The developed folk custom of setting off firecrackers for Handan Ye has the effect of removing plague and means driving away poverty and loneliness. Beehive Fireworks in Yanshui, Tainan Among the traditional Lantern Festival celebrations in Taiwan, the most shocking effect is the beehive firework in Yanshui, Tainan. "Beehive Fireworks" is also known as "beacon firework".
