Understand the eight strange needle methods of Feng Shui compass needle!
Introduction: Anyone who has seen a compass knows that there is a pointer in the compass that is the same as the magnetic compass. This is because the compass was developed based on the magnetic compass! In the study of Feng Shui compass, we noticed the eight methods of odd needles! Understanding the Compass Needle

Nowadays, many Feng Shui masters have replaced their personal compass with a mobile phone-based digital compass. Digital compass is no longer a high-tech product nowadays. Friends who drive know that they can find the location of the car with a GPS locator, and they can also locate it using mobile phone signals. If they just use a mobile phone to measure the direction, they can achieve an accuracy of one thousandth of a degree. In fact, Motorola launched a Feng Shui mobile phone a few years ago, which is very popular in Japan. In addition to being able to measure the direction and calculate the good and bad luck in various places in the house using the Qi method, this phone can also analyze whether the color and the five elements of the house's direction match. What’s even more amazing is that it can also detect electromagnetic radiation in various places in the house and in space. The smaller the radiation, the better the feng shui of the area, and of course the weaker the mobile phone signal.
We all know that radio wave radiation is not good for the human body. Regardless of whether this design by experts conforms to the principles of Feng Shui, it is a benefit to mankind. This kind of feng shui definition that radiation is harmful is of no benefit to mobile phone sales. In this era when mobile phone companies all over the world are promoting the use of radiation to cure cancer and magnetic therapy to prevent cancer, Motorola is willing to tell the truth at the expense of its business. This business attitude is worth promoting.
Above the compass, the square plate supports the circular plate. The sky plate can rotate and the ground plate can also rotate, but the compass needle in the middle of the Tianchi cannot rotate. This needle is the soul of the compass. Theoretically speaking, the old Feng Shui master does not need a compass, but only a compass with sufficient accuracy. The function of the compass is first to determine the direction, and then list the five elements, eight trigrams, constellations and hexagrams on the lines in each direction. The Feng Shui master calculates the fortune of each point and direction according to the conditions of Qi. The premise is that the compass in the middle Tianchi is accurate and can point quietly to the north and south. However, in actual operation, the compass may not be so obedient. In the same room, there will be some deviations when measuring the pointers at different positions. At this time, the Feng Shui master will take the middle value as the standard. For example, if the readings measured one meter, two meters, and three meters in front of the door are 90 degrees, 92 degrees, and 94 degrees respectively, then we should take 92 degrees as the standard. But sometimes the compass doesn't point this way.
When using a traditional compass to find the problem, the needle in the compass rotates slowly like the second hand of a watch. How strange! What is happening?
The direction of the magnetic needle points to the earth's magnetic north and south. Feng Shui believes that direction is directly related to good or bad luck. Logically speaking, good or bad luck is related to the direction of the magnetic field. When the magnetic field is unstable, the magnetic needle will of course not be stable either. I tried it with my mobile phone and compass, and it turns out that placing the phone a palm's length below the pointer will affect the rotation of the pointer. Turning the phone over will also cause the pointer to rotate. This experiment is a bit scary, but there is a reason for it. Now let me introduce the eight methods of strange needles.

Eight methods of strange needles:

1. The needle moves slightly left and right, and the direction of the swing is unpredictable and it can move in any direction. This generally means that there is strange terrain in that direction, such as caves and groundwater, and there may also be underground cultural relics. I have seen a master who was looking at Feng Shui in the countryside. When building a house in the countryside, one has to dig a well. He took the compass and measured everywhere on the foundation. Sure enough, there was a place where the needle was swinging slightly. So he pointed there and said to dig a well here. A week later, the well was drilled, but not where he pointed, but in the opposite direction. From the perspective of Feng Shui, this is not considered a wrong location. At that time, he just paid attention to where the needle would be, but did not pay attention to the direction the needle was pointing. In fact, the needle was pointing to the well location.
Needle spinning is quite common, but I have not dug up any cultural relics because of it. But from the mobile phone experiment just now, it can be seen that in order to make a needle rotate, the mobile phone has to be very close. So when we see the compass spinning around but there are no electrical appliances around us, the magnetic field rushing from afar must be strong enough to hurt people. However, is there such a strong magnetic field in the mountains and wilderness?
2. Dui needle: also called protruding needle or floating needle, which means the needle tip floats upwards. Ancient writings indicate the intervention of good yin, which means caring about the souls of one's deceased ancestors or the arrival of some gods. It also means that there are gold and iron objects underground, which is more misleading than telling people to do something. I think the needle floats up because it is attracted by the magnetic field. I have tried standing on an iron plate and it did not affect the north and south direction of the needle. Such a large iron plate will not produce a floating needle. Can the gold and iron objects underground have such a strong magnetic field? I have never stood on hundreds of tons of iron plates, so maybe standing on a lot of iron plates would have some impact on the magnetic needle.
3. Throwing a needle, also called sinking needle, with the needle pointing downward, represents the intervention of Yin energy. This time it is neither good Yin nor evil Yin, and generally refers to the souls of those who died unjustly or tragically. At the same time, the sinking of the compass needle also means that there is copper underground, which is even more misleading than the previous one. Copper is a metal with very low magnetic properties. Many radio products use copper to reduce the impact of magnetic waves. If the compass needle can be sunk, how big should the pile of copper be and how close should it be? Combining the previous inferences makes people quite doubtful. Is it just the magnetic field that causes the compass to rotate abnormally? Could there really be another force?
4. A probe, also called a throwing needle, is a pointer that floats up and down, with the tip of the needle moving up and down like a chicken pecking at the ground, but it can neither reach the top nor the bottom. It means there is an ancient tomb underground. People living in such a place are prone to funerals and legal disputes. I have never seen this kind of needle method, and I can't simulate this state with electrical appliances and magnetic fields unless I shake my mobile phone up and down next to the compass. This acupuncture method is completely out of the principle of the influence of strong magnetic fields. With my knowledge, I cannot understand it, so I have to memorize it for later use.
5. Bullying needle, also known as spinning needle, means the needle head keeps rotating in the same direction, which means evil spirits are invading. The resentful energy is lingering around and is harmful to people. Among the eight strange acupuncture methods, this is the most direct, fastest and most effective one in curing disasters. I have seen it when I was studying Feng Shui. At that time, I was traveling deep into the mountains and forests with a Feng Shui master. We were resting by a small river. We sat on the beach with the compass placed flat on the sand. Suddenly, the compass needle started spinning wildly like a fan. When the teacher saw this, he immediately told me not to speak, pack up and leave. When I left, I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my knee. It hurt so much that I couldn't walk for a week. After a week, the pain healed without any medicine. That night my teacher told me that this was the "deception needle" among the eight strange needles, which meant that there were evil spirits nearby and if they did not leave, there would be disaster. The next day, we returned to the same place out of curiosity, and the compass needle stopped moving again. I asked the teacher what this meant, and the teacher said, "Maybe it passed by here..." What is "it"? Oh my God, I immediately thought of a scene like a great god like Marshal Tianpeng flying over the river on the clouds and mist with his fangs and claws bared.
After this incident, I believe in the existence of the Eight Strange Needles, and I also infer that what the compass detected could not be just the magnetic field. How could there be such a strong magnetic field in such a desolate mountain forest? Even if the magnetic field is so strong, why did it disappear without a trace the next day? Old Feng Shui masters all know that once the needle turns, something bad will happen immediately.
6. Sui needle, also called reverse needle, is a needle tip that floats and swings left and right. It represents that there will be disobedient people here. People will lose both their lives and their wealth if they live here. No matter how good the situation is, it will be useless to set up any Feng Shui layout. Just leave.
7. Side needle: the needle head does not point to the true north or south, but it can remain still and looks fine. In fact, such a place is not suitable for ordinary people to live in. It is only suitable for building altars and temples, and it may also be okay to build a church. The strange needle method mentioned above is not common, but once the side needle appears, it is very deceptive. In order to avoid making this mistake, I usually bring an extra compass to work to use in conjunction with the compass, and before approaching the destination, I will determine the north and south directions early and choose the direction reference objects so that I can detect the appearance of the side needle in time.
In addition, in the city, after entering a building, the needle often no longer points to due north and south. This is an error caused by the steel bars and electrical appliances in the building and cannot be regarded as a side needle. If you use the Xuan Kong Feixing Feng Shui layout, you should measure the positive direction on the open space before entering the building, and layout the house according to the positive direction outside. If you use the San Yuan Feng Shui layout, you can also apply it directly when there are slight changes in direction. Because in San Yuan Feng Shui, a compass is often used under doors and windows, the return air from the air vents will slightly affect the pointer. The changed direction can still be used to calculate the good or bad luck of the hexagram line. Only by using the true direction can an effective San Yuan Feng Shui layout be set up.
8. Regular needles are normal acupuncture methods. In fact, there are only seven of the eight strange needles.
Feng Shui is already magical, and on top of that there are the Eight Methods of Strange Needles, which shows that the world is so big that there is nothing strange. Current technology probably cannot explain the strange needle phenomenon. We don't have to rely on ghosts and gods, but we shouldn't be a pseudo-scientist who only sees the world from a narrow perspective.
