Do you know the Feng Shui knowledge of burning incense and worshipping Buddha with sincerity?

Introduction: Do you know the correct way to burn incense? The movements for burning incense are different for men and women, and even the movements for entering the incense burning hall are different. People who do not believe in gods and Buddhas may think that burning incense is very simple. In fact, it is not. From entering the door to lighting incense to kneeling, every step has a lot of details. If you do it wrong, your prayers will be ineffective. In this article, the editor has compiled some tips on burning incense and worshiping Buddha. If you are also a person who burns incense and worships Buddha, let’s take a look! Mr. Shui Mo’s Feng Shui Special Topic contains more articles about Feng Shui, allowing you to understand Feng Shui knowledge faster.

Entering the temple gate:

There are usually many doors leading into the incense burning hall, and the three doors in the middle have a story behind them. Ordinary tourists enter from the door on the right. The middle door is an empty door for monks to enter and exit. The way men and women enter the door is also different. Women step in with their right foot first, and men step in with their left foot first. They cannot step on the threshold, and try to take bigger steps when entering the door. On the day of burning incense, it is best to wear clean clothes and keep your hands and face clean to show respect to the god you are worshipping.

Incense burning action:

Usually people should hold the incense in their left hand and the candle in their right hand, while left-handed people should do the opposite. When lighting incense, it is best to light it all at once, but the bigger the flame, the better. After the incense is lit, face the door of the hall, lightly hold three green incense sticks in both hands (left hand on top, right hand on bottom for men, and vice versa for women), suddenly lift them upwards, the burning fire will go out immediately, and you must never blow it out with your mouth. When bowing, hold the incense with your left hand on top and your right hand on the bottom, and raise them above your head to bow. Turn right, face east (usually the door of the main hall faces south), make a wish according to step 3, bow three times; then face south and north. After worshipping, you can put the incense into the incense burner, but don’t just throw it into the incense burner.

When burning incense, please do not talk to others, and do not point fingers at the gods and Buddhas, and do not say bad words or other disrespectful words to the gods and Buddhas. If the cushion is in the way when walking, do not step over it, but go around it. Stepping over the cushion is disrespectful to the gods and Buddhas.

The etiquette of kowtow is as follows: kneel on the cushion with both knees and put your hands together. When putting your hands together, make sure your palms are hollow. Raise them above your head, then lower them to your mouth and pause. You can make a wish and silently recite what you are thinking. Then spread your palms out with your palms facing up and bow down. Place your hands in front of the cushion and bow your head downward.

Number of incense sticks:

Three sticks are for praying for yourself, six sticks are for praying for two generations, nine sticks are for praying for three generations, and thirteen sticks are high incense for complete merit. In addition, you need to pay for your own incense.

Some people do not go to temples to worship gods but worship Buddha at home. When worshiping Buddha at home, you should choose a good location, preferably a spacious, quiet place where you will not be disturbed. If conditions permit, you can set up a special Buddhist hall. When burning incense, you should pay attention to the children at home and do not let the children run and play in the Buddhist hall to disturb the Buddha's tranquility.

Burning incense before moving:

According to Feng Shui, people usually burn incense when moving. Before moving into a new home, light the incense, enter from the left side of the house, let the thick smoke sweep up and down the living room, rooms, toilets, kitchen, ceiling, walls and even the base of the wall, exit from the right side of the house, go to a safe place outside, extinguish the incense and discard it. To remove evil spirits, this is especially important for houses built on foundations with poor feng shui. It is best for pregnant women not to see the entire moving process.

Steps to burn incense and worship gods at home:

1. Pick up three incense sticks at random, light them, hold them in your hand and walk to the front of the prayer stool.

2. Stand solemnly facing the Buddha statue, keep a calm and pure heart, and raise the incense in both hands.

3. Incense holding action: pinch the incense base with the index and middle fingers of both hands, and press the tail end of the incense with the two thumbs. The incense should be steady.

4. Hold the incense stick to the level of your eyebrows, gaze at the majestic Buddha statue with clear eyes, and think about what you hope to achieve.

5. Hold the incense stick with your right hand and insert the incense with your left hand.

6. Do not step over the cushion when walking.
