Can I still move if a relative dies the day before I move?

According to folk customs, after a family member dies, the family cannot move within forty-nine days, at least until the "fifth seventh day". According to legend, the "fifth seventh day" is when the deceased's soul reaches the Wangxiang Terrace and returns to his hometown for the last time. Generally, the bereaved family has a sacrificial ceremony on the "fifth seventh day" and also preserves the deceased's bed as it was. There may be some idealism in this regard, but it is also a kind of respect and mourning for the deceased.
China has a vast territory, so the requirements on this matter may be very different in many places. Some places may think that it is not a big deal and proceed according to the normal plan. In other places, if someone dies in the family, they may wait three years before moving. Before moving, there may also be a small worship ceremony. If you are moving for a happy occasion, you must remember to burn incense for the deceased, and do this for three days and three nights. Also, after moving into the new house, you must remember to visit the deceased's grave and pay your respects a week later, so that you can comfort the deceased.
